12 Reasons 2021 Was a Good Year

While it’s true that in 2021 the pandemic dragged on, impacting harvests and supply chains alike, there were plenty of reasons to be cheerful – and to hope that 2022 will be even better. Before we go into the new year, we wanted to look at some of the highlights from the last 12 months and shout out to a strong global team which made it all possible.

Here are some of our highlights, in no particular order:

AVOCADOS 🥑 : In 2021 we received long-awaited results showing stunning water savings and soil management across several landmark avocado projects in Chile, overseen by the Hass Avocado Committee. -> Read more about it.

COP26 🌎 : AQUA4D was presented by Solar Impulse Foundation in Glasgow as a High impact Climate Solution which can help mitigate the effects of a changing climate. -> Watch Eric Valette’s speech.

SOCCER ⚽️ : In one of several new domains this year, AQUA4D achieved impressive results at European football clubs including OGC Nice (France, Ligue 1) and AZ Alkmaar (Dutch Eredivisie) -> Find out more.

PRIZES 🥇 : A landmark project involving AQUA4D won this year’s inaugural #PrixAlpiq (Alpiq Prize). The winning project aims to reduce the water requirements of agriculture in a Swiss municipality by up to 40%.

LEMONS 🍋 : In other long-awaited results from University of California Extension Center, AQUA4D-treated citrus trees emerged healthy after being deliberately placed under drought stress. -> Find out more.

BUILDINGS 🇨🇭 : In Switzerland, we partnered with large property owner DBS Group for the sustainable treatment of water systems in buildings, while AXA started replacing water softeners with AQUA4D® systems. -> Find out more.

WEBSITE 💧 : We launched a brand new website and branding this year, solidifying our core competencies and values under a new streamlined image. -> Take a look.

AWARDS 🏆 AQUA4D received the Energy Globe Award for its contribution to water management and soil restoration in Chile. -> Read more.

INNOVATION ⚙️ : After years of R&D, our team released the new AQUA4D® F-A Pro M pre-assembled portable system, and continued field trials of our EU-funded H-A Max system for large-scale macro irrigation in Brazil, the USA, and Spain.

GEOTHERMAL 🌍 : In 2021, after successful first installations for the application of our technology in heat pump systems (geothermal energy) over the years, we put this topic for solving large-scale issues with iron bacteria development at a national level of interest. -> Find out more.

GOLF ⛳️ : In another first, AQUA4D® systems were installed on several golf courses in South America, saving resources and boosting the water efficiency of the sport. -> Read about it.
