To answer a growing demand and accelerate the growth of the company, AQUA4D has taken on funding from France-based Abaque Finance which will help with R&D efforts, production scale-up and further expansion into new markets.
It’s been an exciting two decades of growth for Valais-based water treatment pioneers AQUA4D. The academic Eric Valette and the engineer Walter K. Thut first explored the potential of their innovation in the early 2000s. Exponential growth and hugely successful implementation in municipal buildings and irrigation followed – first in Switzerland and soon around the world. Now over 5000 installations in 43 countries continue to bring much-needed water efficiency in various industries.
Growing demand
We are in the midst of an unfortunate perfect storm: spiraling populations and water demand coupled with soil degradation and a changing climate. At the same time, there is much more awareness of sustainable and regenerative approaches than there was 20 years ago. This means AQUA4D is seeing more interest than ever, from more places and industries than ever, and has become established as the most efficient water treatment – without chemicals or consumables – on the market.
To maximize our potential impact, serve as many growers as possible, and continue restoring lands while saving water, a next stage of development is necessary.
Consequently, AQUA4D is delighted to announce a major new investment from Abaque Finance, which will help propel towards a new stage of development and thriving.
New investment, new era
This significant new injection of funds will enable AQUA4D to fulfil its potential in some major markets which are crying out for our clean technology, as well as upscaling R&D and innovative product development.
Jean-Michel Balmelle from Abaque Finance: “When we met AQUA4D director Eric Valette we were already very active in the industrial water treatment sector through NGL Cleaning Technology and a varied offer of physico-chemical stations. It seemed obvious to us that we were the ideal partner to accompany them in this great adventure to develop AQUA4D and their sustainable efficiency.”
Eric Valette, CEO of AQUA4D: “The need for our technology has never been greater, and new investment will help us reach a new level through smart recruitment, R&D expansion, and market penetration. We look forward to working with Abaque Finance as they share our philosophy and vision for a sustainable future.”
Exciting developments
Use of AQUA4D® technology has long been part of a sustainable transition in various industries. In a true spirit of innovation, the company’s R&D team is constantly pushing the boundaries of the technology. This includes exciting forays into treating water for geothermal energy, and the anticipated 2023 release of a brand-new innovation for large-scale pivot irrigation – and the huge water savings that entails.
Later in 2022, new branch offices and enlarged teams in California and Chile will help further serve current and future clients in the Americas.
These efforts and much more will be supercharged by the significant investment from Abaque Finance. AQUA4D looks forward to many more exciting developments in the coming months and years.
